Quick take:  I'm learning to say "yes" more than I say "no".
Born:  Johannesburg, South Africa. According to my mom, I was so small I could fit inside a shoe box!
Family:  Married to Chris. Sons James and Jonathan. Dog Simba. Gerbil Freddie.
Education:  Honors degree in Social Work from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Major Influence:  The first half of my life, my mom. The second half of my life, my husband Chris.
Favourite verse:  Phillipians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
Little know fact:  I was a competitive swimmer in high school.
Perfect day:  Would include some time alone to relax and recharge and some time with the family doing something fun.
Hobbies:  Reading, walking my dog, playing guitar.
Passion:  Leading worship.
TV:  I love dance shows - like "So You Think You Can Dance Canada". I also like American Idol (and I still think Adam Lambert should have won!)
Proud moment:  There are lots of them, including: making a new life for myself in Canada, the birth of my sons, the first time I got up on stage to dance competitively (9 years ago)
Comfort food:  This will be weird for some of you.... a green drink made from juiced spinach,celery,cucumber, ginger and apple.
I'd like to say to the people of VG:  No matter how much your family and friends love you, there are places (mentally, emotionally or physically) that only God can go with you. This is the most important relationship you will have in your life - spend time on it.
Bottom Line:  You only get one shot at life - make it count.
Indispensable:  Knowing God is always with me.
