We know that as a parent, you care deeply about your child’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being – and we do too. Our hope and prayer is that we can partner with you in this adventure of raising kids to know and love God.

Safe and secure

We provide child protection training once a year to all our volunteers so they will know how to respond to the needs of children in their care. We ensure our volunteers have current police record checks. There are two volunteers on hand in each room at all times.

A practice fire drill takes place once a year in the fall so volunteers are trained to take your child to an assigned location in the lower parking lot where you could pick them up.

Age-appropriate teaching material & activities

Check out on the links on the right-hand side for each area to see what the children are currently learning. We try to create a kid-friendly environment that is cheerful, clean and well maintained. Please ask your child about what they learned in their classes.

You can help us

• If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home out of respect for the other children and families. Our Parent Package has more information.
• Please pick your child up as soon as possible after the service.
• If your child has allergies or other health concerns, please make sure that workers are informed.
• Introduce yourself to your children’s teachers – it always helps them to know who belongs to who!
• Feel free to give us some feedback at familyministry@vgchurch.org. Share the stories of what your child is learning. Make suggestions how we can improve. Let us know where we are doing well.

The theParentLink is a regular 4-page newsletter that is full of great parenting tips and ideas. Every month has a new theme (e.g. developing Christ-centred self-esteem, offering positive discipline, maximizing "together time"). In the VG Library

The church library has many excellent resources available to you as parents. A few are mentioned in the In the VG Library Resource section of this website. But the best thing to do is browse in the library and see what is available.
