Coldest Night of the Year
Come and freeze your butt off on February 25th!
On February 25th, Village Green will participate in the Coldest Night of the Year, a Canada-wide 5 and 10 km walk. In London, the walk is in support of Mission Services.
February is a challenging month for the hungry and homeless, but we can make a difference!
We need team captains and walkers! Yes, you may get a bit cold, but your heart will have a warm, tingly feeling. And so will your ears, because all walkers get an awesome "Coldest Night of the Year" toque!
To learn more, watch the video above, read the information below, visit www.brrrr.org, or contact Susan Gowan at 519-645-0022.
How to Start a Team
As a Team Captain, you will recruit 6 to 9 friends (or LIFE group members?) to walk with you on Feb 25. Your team goal is to raise a minimum of $2000.
- Go to www.brrrr.org and select start a team from the tabs on the left.
- Select London as your location and click the yellow "Next" button.
- Read the waiver, click the "I accept the waiver" checkbox, and then click the yellow "Next" button.
- Click the yellow "Create a Team" button. Name your team something fun, write a short description, set a goal of $2000, and then under Choose your Charity, select "London - Mission Services of London". Click the yellow "Next" button.
And that's it! A few hours after you’ve completed registering, you will see your team and your name in the master list of supporting teams on our partner page located at www.coldestnightoftheyear.org/partners.
How to Join a Team
As a team member, you'll want to raise a minimum of $250.
- Go to www.brrrr.org and select start a team from the tabs on the left.
- Select London as your location and click the yellow "Next" button.
- Read the waiver, click the "I accept the waiver" checkbox, and then click the yellow "Next" button.
- Click the yellow "Join a Team" button. Search for your Team Captain or team name. (If you can’t find them, no worries. You can still join the team after you register.) Click the yellow "Next" button.
- Start asking! Use the online fundraising system. Email your friends with personal requests for support. It’s a proven fact: walkers who post a picture, explain why they are walking and email their friends raise 10 times more on average than those who don’t.
